What Customers Say About Video Capture for Mac USB2 Video Capture Hardware:

I realized that the device needs 3 RCA audio/video "Y" (aka splitter) cables. We don't have a Dazzle that is design for capturing live feed videos. easy set up and recording xbox video just fine. but I almost returned the Dazzle after Pinnacle was not able to help me capture xbox360 live feeds (the reason my 13 year-old son bought it):"Hi, Thank you for contacting Avid Pinnacle Support. but after rebooting, and reseating cables again, we haven't seen the problem since.for a simple device and if you just want to record xbox feed from TV to Mac (haven't used it for anything else), I recommend. As it is not recommended or tested we will not be able to trouble shoot the issue."but right before I was going to return it, I looked on YouTube and a user video saved the day.

also came across the same issue others have seen where the very first time, there was a delay between audio and video. All's well that ends well, and now happy with the product. Regarding your concern, we don't advertise the Dazzle for capturing live feed from any source because it is only tested for capturing pre-recorded videos from an analog source. this is in addition to the normal audio/video RCA cable needed.so after I bought those i was good to go.

However, after the first few days it was plugged in and I had recorded some TV footage, it stopped working and I had to reinstall all the software again in order for it to work properly again. That's what I did. It was easy to install and get working right away. I'm not sure what caused that, but since then I have it plugged in to my computer everyday and there haven't been any problems Very good for recording your shows from your TV feed and DVR, so you can keep the favorites of yours.

This might be OK for viewing things on an iPod or capturing your video games but it is NOT good enough for preserving your priceless home movies. I called Apple and asked them what they would recommend and they said to get the "elgato EyeTV 250 Plus digital/analog TV receiver and video connector." They said the video quality will be very good. I got the footage into iMovie, but the picture was very digitalized and there were huge black digital patches all over the screen. After talking w/the people at Pinnacle, they had me reinstall the software. I was disappointed to say the least, and ended up returning the product. I was very excited to get this so I could finally get my home movies (now on VHS) onto DVD. First, I was unable to get the file into iMovie. They said that was a defect, but even the stuff that was not blacked out was extremely poor quality.

I bought it for 2 reasons:1) To capture video from a camcorder that is not Mac compatible & 2) To transfer my parents' VHS home movies to digital.I tried both types of transfer and got the same results both times: the video quality is poor and, here's the biggie, the audio is about 1.5 seconds behind the video. I just bought this today (at the Apple store) and returned it within 4 hours of purchase. Don't buy it.

Maybe five minutes and I was capturing video. This is defiantly worth the money. It was very easy to get up and running. But the Pinnacle video capture program works well enough.

There was no sound delay for me at all. Then you can drag and drop straight into Imovie for some quick editing if need be. I was previously using the Dazzle Video Capture for windows. It was a bit pricey compared to the windows version but worth the money if you own a mac and that is what you need or want to capture with. I received it today and tested it. (Machine Cinema, creating cinema using a video game as a medium) I had to buy this product because I am on the switch to everything mac.

So I had to purchase the same thing but for the mac. I am very pleased with this product. I do not have the money together yet to purchase Final Cut. If you just want to capture home videos or video game play and you are not willing to spend the money on an HD card. I spend a lot of time capturing video from my Xbox 360 to my computer for doing Machinima. after reading some reviews I was skeptical, but purchased it anyways.

So I can not use Final Cut to import the video with the Dazzle for the mac, nor can I import it from Imovie.
